Dating to the 18th century, Domaine Vessigaud’s current holdings are comprised of some of the oldest, finest parcels throughout Pouilly and Macon. With vines averaging 40 to 80 years old, Pierre Vessigaud, the family’s current generation winemaker, seeks to follow a simple philosophy: there is no great wine without great grapes. Originally bottled exclusively for the French market, his Macon Charnay is a classic! Linear and taut, rich, textured, bright and focused, with green apple fruit and minerality to burn, this outperforms 90% of the region’s Pouilly’s. Outstanding. PSWC
